MOI...IMMIGRATION....Passports

There is no such thing as an expedition fee for passports. (This is in response to the question posted on my blog without a return email address.)

This week, even though promised, no dossiers were signed out of the Ministry of Interior (MOI). When we called to find out the status, the director personally answered the telephone and told us that he had been too busy this week to sign any passport authorization letters.

The immigration office (passports) confirmed that no dossiers had been received from MOI.

My daughter's passport from MOI to printing took just 3 days. After waiting in MOI for so long, I must confess I didn't ask questions I was just thankful that she could come home. Now this was about 18 months ago so it may have changed since then.

We recieved an update from our O that there is possibly a new USCIS officer taking over. Do you know anything about this?

Hello, Many thanks for all the information. About MOI, could you tell us at which step in this administration a number of folder is given (immigration, legal department, politics affairs,..)?

I am confused, does that mean if he has time to come to the phone he now has time to sign some dossiers out. We have been in 3 months and now ONLY waiting his signature. It has been 2 years now.. Come on guys!!! Lets move right along...mmm...

Thanks Anonymous 1, much appreciated comment.

Amen to that.
We have been in MOI for almost 8 months....and are supposedly waiting for his signature too (for 3 months)
We started the process 3 years ago...
we're beginning to lose hope.
Great to see that there may be some light at the end of this never-ending tunnel.

What exactly happens in MOI? We have been in for months now- we have our decree, our daughter was abandoned without known parents. We have been in process for 2 years...is there a way to follow-up? Every step has taken so long!
